These scones are perfect to warm up a cool autumn evening…or any time you fancy a delicious apple and cinnamon scone!
To make these I used one bag of our gluten free scone mix. To this I added one medium sized eating apple that had been peeled and diced, 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and followed the recipe to the mix adding the vegetable oil and buttermilk. This made a lovely soft fragrant dough which I then turned out onto a clean surface sprinkled with cornflour. Gently shaping the dough into a ball, I then rolled it out to about 1/2 inch thick. I used a small round cutter about 3cm diameter for these scones which made 10-12 scones.
Bake in the oven at 170 C/ 350 F / gas mark 4 for 12-15 minutes until golden.
To make these extra delicious once they came out of the oven I drilled them with honey…yum!
